About FreeCashFlow.org

FCF analysis and investment education for individual investors

What We Do

FreeCashFlow.org is an independent investment education website focused on free cash flow yield (FCF yield) analysis. We believe free cash flow is one of the most honest measures of business health — harder to manipulate than reported earnings and more directly tied to long-term shareholder value.

Our content covers FCF fundamentals, in-depth company case studies, a live stock screener tracking 600+ S&P 500 companies by FCF yield, and tools to help individual investors apply the same analytical framework used by professional value investors.

Educational content only

All content on FreeCashFlow.org is for educational and informational purposes only. Nothing here constitutes financial advice or a recommendation to buy or sell any security. Always do your own research and consult a qualified financial advisor before investing.

How Our Analysis Works

Our company case studies follow a consistent methodology built around public financial disclosures:

  1. Primary source data — operating cash flow and capital expenditure figures are drawn from SEC EDGAR filings (10-K annual reports and 10-Q quarterly reports), cross-referenced with company earnings releases where applicable.
  2. FCF calculation — free cash flow is calculated as operating cash flow minus capital expenditures (maintenance + growth CapEx combined, unless otherwise stated). We note where companies report adjusted or non-GAAP FCF figures and compare them to our GAAP-based calculation.
  3. FCF yield — calculated as trailing twelve-month (TTM) FCF divided by market capitalization at the time of writing, expressed as a percentage.
  4. FCF Quality Score — a 1–10 rating covering consistency of FCF generation, FCF-to-net-income conversion ratio, working capital trends, CapEx as a percentage of revenue, and debt trajectory.
  5. Editorial review — all figures are checked against primary filings before publication. Any discrepancies between adjusted and GAAP metrics are explicitly flagged.

AI-Assisted Content

We use AI language models to assist with drafting company analyses and educational content. This allows us to produce thorough, consistently structured analyses across a large number of companies efficiently.

All AI-assisted content goes through an editorial review process before publication:

  • Financial figures are verified against primary SEC filings
  • Calculations (FCF, FCF yield, FCF margin) are independently checked
  • Analysis is reviewed for factual accuracy and appropriate framing as educational content
  • Compliance with our editorial standards is confirmed before publishing

We believe AI-assisted research, when properly reviewed, allows individual investors to access the kind of structured fundamental analysis previously available only to institutional teams. We are transparent about this approach.
